Though eliminated from the playoffs, the Lady 'Birds showed their pride and defeated Lamar in four games. El Campo will attempt to stop Bay City Friday in their last match of the year. More ... Cross country teams take first A pair of first-place team victories highlighted El Campo's latest cross country meet. The Ricebirds ran in Stafford Oct. 13 and claimed several individual top spots by the end of their runs. The girls varsity and junior varsity teams both claimed first place in Stafford. More ... EL CAMPO FRESHMAN FOOTBALL REPORT El Campo's freshman football teams took on Terry this past week with differing results. The Red team defeated the Rangers 24-21 on Oct. 11 while the White team fell 24-14 on Oct. 12. Freshman Red The Ricebirds held off a surging Ranger team late in the game to ensure a 24-21 victory. ECMS EIGHTH GRADE FOOTBALL UPDATE El Campo Middle School's eighth-grade football teams both took on Bay City Oct. 9 and played great games against the rival Blackcats. 8th Grade Red Bay City was no problem for the Ricebirds. El Campo tallied five touchdowns while the defense held the Blackcats to a shutout for a 34-0 win. More ... |
