BULLETIN BOARD DON'T MISS: St. Philip PTC Halloween Carnival St. Philip PTC Halloween Carnival is today at the Knights of Columbus Hall on Armory Road off State 71 South from noon to 5 p.m. Costume contest will begin at 2 p.m. TODAY, OCT. 27 Boxing Program Fund-raiser The boxing program at the Boys & Girls Club will host a barbecue chicken dinner today from 11 a.m.-3 p.m. Plates are $7 and can be picked up at 713 Fahrenthold, the Boys & Girls Club parking lot. Museum Displays Decorated Bags The El Campo Museum is having a Trick or Treat Bag Decorating contest during the month of October. The bags will be on display at the Museum until Oct. 27. SUNDAY, OCT. 28 St. Andrew Turkey Dinner Plates St. Andrew Altar Society will serve Turkey Dinner plates Sunday at St. Andrew Parish Hall in Hillje. Serving begins at 11 a.m. Plates to-go or dine-in at $7 each. Raffle, country store, bake sale and music by Richard Staha will be available throughout the day. Halloween Carnival At Danevang Hall Danevang Lutheran Church will host a Halloween Carnival at the Danevang Community Hall Sunday from 5- 7 p.m. Everyone is welcome to attend the free carnival which will include games, a costume contest, a spook house, door prizes and refreshments. HALLOWEEN, OCT. 31 Aquatic Center Offers Halloween Treat The El Campo Aquatic Center will have a Halloween Fun Night Wednesday, Oct. 31. Legion Monthly Executive Meeting Craig Harriss American Legion Post 251 will hold its Executive Committee meeting on Wednesday, Oct. 31 at 7 p.m. in the auxiliary room. THURSDAY, NOV. 1 Youth Fair Taking Live Turkey Orders Any 4-H or FFA member interested in raising turkeys for the 2008 WCYF must order their turkeys by Thursday, Nov. 1 at a cost of $2.50 per bird; minimum order of 10 birds per exhibitor. Turkey exhibitor cards must be sent to the Fair Office on or postmarked by Nov. 1. An entry fee of $15 must accompany your completed entry card. EC Branch Library Scholastic Book Fair The El Campo Branch Library is holding its semi-annual Scholastic Book Fair, with a wide variety of books and novelties available for purchase. Entries must be turned in by Friday Nov. 9 by 5 p.m. The meeting for the past Citizen of the Year will be Tuesday, Nov. 13 at 9 a.m. Nominations should give as many details as possible about the person nominated. Derby Dolls Sell Engraved Bricks The Derby Doll Booster Club is selling engraved bricks to be displayed in front of the new practice gym on the high school campus. These bricks may have your name, class, organization or business on them. They can also be in honor of someone, in memory of someone, a current or past student. Order forms may also be obtained from any Derby Doll member. Smoked Turkeys Sold by Eastern Star El Campo's Order of the Eastern Star is selling smoked turkeys for Thanksgiving as a fund-raiser. Turkeys will be approximately 10 pounds and will be prepared and smoked by local members. Turkeys are available for $25 each by pre-sale only. They will be delivered Nov. 20.
