Czech Home residents on-the-go

Residents of the Czech Catholic Home for the Aged have been on several outings recently.

Earlier this month they had pizza at Mr. Gatti's. Attending were Mary Sohrt, Teresa Schroder, Joe Chomout, Ella Johnson, Andrew Popp, Bernard Hrncir, Lillian Reck, Charles Pavlu, Martha Kutac, Al Kutac, Jerome Novak, Frankie Harbus, Eloise Orsak and Willie Henkes.

Most recently birthday honorees at the home were given a party by the Louise-Hillje Catholic Daughters. Those honored were Teresa Schroder, Albert Winter Sr., Elsie Burrell, Florencia Benavides, Mary Kieler, Della Caveness and Ruby Foitik. The Catholic Daughters presented each with a gift. Cake, ice cream and punch were also served by the group. Residents Al Kutach Joe Chomout entertained the group.

Lastly, a domino tournament was held with residents playing games of straight dominoes, teams of two and a double elimination tournament. First place went to Edwin Rod and Bernard Hrncir; second place winners were Willie Henkes and Jerome Novak; and third place went to Lillian Reck and Mary Sohrt. Others participating were Evelyn Fikac, Dorothy Rod, Frankie Harbus, Teresa Schroder, Joe Chomout and Al Kutac.

Patricia Pustejovsky provided prizes for the first three places and refreshments.
