LETTERS TO THE EDITOR
Cartoon film opportunity for Christians
Editor, the Leader-News:

In the world in which we live, many of us have probably wished that the movie industry would provide better entertainment for our families. I would like to thank Showplace III for providing the new movie, The Ten Commandments, here in El Campo. It is a new, animated version of the biblical story of Moses and it portrays his obedience to God in order to attain the release of God's people from slavery in Egypt.

As a strong Christian community, we need to take advantage of opportunities in our own town that will entertain and educate the future generations as well as ourselves. If we want our youth to be responsible and follow the Ten Commandments, it is so important that they understand the role Moses played in Christianity and why he was chosen by God to present these Ten Commandments to the Israelites and ultimately to each one of us.

Please consider taking a short journey back into the Old Testament to revive the story in your own heart or enlighten a child so that he or she can better understand God's unfailing love for each of us.

If we want more family entertainment to be provided by the movie industry, we need to support movies such as this. Accoriding to the directors, this is the first in a series of 12 planned animated "Epic Stories of the Bible."
