Police Blotter City Arrests Alcohol, drugs Sandra Zavala Rios, 28, of Palacios was arrested at 1:07 a.m. Sunday, Oct. 28 on a charge of driving while intoxicated. She was transferred to Wharton County Jail the same day. Enrique Mosqueda Partida, 31, of 404 S. Mechanic was arrested at 7:28 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 28 on warrants for open alcohol container in a motor vehicle and running a stop sign, two warrants for no insurance and a charge of excessive noise - loud music. He remained in custody at presstime. Juan Jose Olvera, 45, of 407 S. East in Edna was arrested at 10:20 a.m. Monday, Oct. 29 on a Jackson County warrant for driving while intoxicated. He was transferred to county jail the next day. Ignacio Cardoza, 44, of 207 1/2 S. Washington was arrested at 9:48 p.m. Monday, Oct. 29 on four warrants for public intoxication, three warrants for disorderly conduct - language and a charge of disorderly conduct - language. Police found Cardoza when they went to investigate a disturbance and he allegedly would not quit cursing police. He remained in custody at presstime. Property Adam Dave Abelar, 27, of 417 E. Watt was arrested at 6:13 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 28 on a Wharton County warrant for theft by check, a Matagorda County warrant for failure to appear and four warrants for issuance of a bad check. He was held on $4,400 bond as of 3 p.m. the next day. Tammy Rodriguez Ivey, 28, of 307 Ave. E was arrested at 7:39 a.m. Monday, Oct. 29 on a warrant for issuance of a bad check after being stopped for a traffic violation. She was released the same day after paying a $410.58 fine. Violence, weapons Scottie Ray Cunningham, 26, of 1015 Briar Lane in Wharton was arrested at 1:45 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 27 on a warrant for robbery. He was transferred to county jail the same day. Other Jacqueline Elaine Washington, 48, of 1017 Ellwood was arrested at 10:52 p.m. Friday, Oct. 26 on two warrants for no driver's license as well as warrants for failure to appear, running a stop sign, no insurance and issuance of a bad check and a charge of no driver's license. She was released the next day on a payment plan for $2,069.57 in fines. Alfredo Munoz Velasquez, 27, of 1007 W. Fifth was arrested at 7:51 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 27 on charges of failure to report an accident, no driver's license, no insurance and backing without safety, after allegedly backing into a vehicle. The owner of the damaged vehicle reportedly followed Velasquez until police intercepted them and stopped Velasquez' truck. He was released the same day on $818 bond. Melissa Ann Medina, 32, of 806 Erin was arrested at 12:15 a.m. Sunday, Oct. 28 on a Wharton County warrant for probation violation. She was transferred to county jail the same day and held without bond as of 3 p.m. Monday. Adam Steve Biskup, 18, of Rt. 1, Box 196 in El Campo was arrested by a sheriff's deputy at 12:34 a.m. Monday, Oct. 29 on warrants for failure to appear, minor in possession of an alcoholic beverage and no insurance. He was released the same day after paying $757.25 in fines. Public intoxication: 5. City Incidents Property Patrick Gonzales reported $500 in vandalism to a vehicle parked at 700 Main between 5:45 and 6 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 27. County Jail Bookings Other Larry D. Lee, 27, of 602 Alamo was booked Saturday, Oct. 27 for probation violation and capias pro fines. He was held without bond as of 3 p.m. Monday, Oct. 29. Ray Lee Holloway, 39, of 314 1/2 Palacios was booked at 3:35 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 28 for failure to appear. He was held on $5,000 bond as of 3 p.m. the next day.
