Angel Brooks, Varsity girls advance to regional cross country meet

El Campo's varsity girls cross country team is preparing to run at regionals Saturday at North Harris College in Humble. El Campo's cross country teams competed at Seven Lakes High School Saturday for the district meet and several girls advanced on to this week's regional meet.

Angel Brooks, who competed at state last year, was El Campo's only individual to qualify. She finished fourth among 39 varsity girl competitors. The top 10 individuals advanced to regionals.

The entire varsity girls team qualified for regionals as well. The Lady 'Birds finished third out of five teams with each member finishing in the top 25 at the meet.

El Campo's regional meet will begin at 1:20 p.m. Saturday at North Harris College in Humble.
