FOOTBALL CONTEST

Week 9 of the Leader-News Football Contest was cluttered with four-miss ballots.

Todd Mickelson, Arthur Washington, Alonzo Gonzalez, Vlasta Bartos, Richard Smajstrla, Michael Thane and Mark Freeman each missed four games forcing a look at Tiebreaker 1.

The total points scored in the Texans game against the Chargers game was 45. Gonzalez and Bartos both missed Tiebreaker 1 by one point.

To figure out first place, Tiebreaker 2 came into play. The total yards in the Texans game was 604.

Gonzalez came closest with a guess of 575 and will receive a check of $25 and a $25 dine-in credit at Pizza Hut.

Second place went to Bartos, who missed the tiebreaker by 40 yards. For second place, Bartos wins a check of $15.

Third place came down to another tie. Washington and Freeman both missed Tiebreaker 1 by four points.

After looking at Tiebreaker 2, Washington was the third-place winner. He missed the total by 24 yards and will receive a $10 check in the mail.
