Sabrsula & Morrison wed at 1st UMC

MR. AND MRS. BRENT CHARLES MORRISON KATY LYNN SABRSULA
Katy Lynn Sabrsula and Brent Charles Morrison were united in marriage at 3 p.m., Aug. 11, 2007 at First United Methodist Church in El Campo.

The bride is the daughter of Kenneth and Sarah Sabrsula of Wharton. Parents of the groom are Bruce and Teresa Morrison of El Campo.

Church arrangements featured silver tins tied off with green tulle and fuschia ribbon and filled with miniature light pink and hot pink Gerbera daisies, hypericum berries and jewels for accent.

Music was provided by the organist, Ted Lashley. Selections on CD for the prelude were "Going to the Chapel" by the Dixie Chicks, "Because You Loved Me" by Celine Dion, "I'm Your Angel" by Celine Dion and R. Kelly, "You Raise Me Up" by Josh Groban, "How Beautiful" by Twila Paris and "I Can Only Imagine" by Mercy Me. Selections by Lashley included "On Eagle's Wings" for the seating of the grandparents, "Jesu, Joy of Man's Desiring" by Bach for the seating of the parents, "Canon in D" by Pachelbel for the processional, "Bridal March" by Wagner for the entrance of the bride, and "Trumpet Voluntary" by Clarke and "Festival" by Price for the recessional.

The bride, escorted by her father, wore a strapless, full A-line ivory gown designed by Allure. The lace bodice featured regal embellished embroidery that was encrusted with Swarovski crystals, bugle beads, seed beads and pearls. A side front skirt panel was featured with the same treatment as the embellished bodice. The caught-up cutaway taffeta skirt was richly decorated with crystal embroidery motifs. The gown swept to a chapel-length train. The bride wore a rhinestone and crystal tiara with a fingertip veil of illusion that was encircled with embroidered lace that was accented with seed beads, bugle beads, tiny pearls and sequins. The bride carried a bouquet of hot pink and pale pink roses, white stephanotis with green hypericum berries backed with lemon leaf and loop bear grass.

Bridal attendants were the matron of honor, Kristen Brown of El Campo, friend of the bride; the maid of honor, Kelly Sabrsula of Wharton, sister of the bride; and bridesmaids, Marci Macek of Wharton, Ashley Bartek of El Campo, Morgan Labay of Van Vleck, Nichole Foote of Bay City and Jessica Gann of Corpus Christi, friends of the bride; Jill Boenisch of Wharton, cousin of the bride; and Brittany Cerny of El Campo, friend of the bride. They wore a fuschia pink two-piece gown with a strapless bodice featuring asymmetrical, crossover draping onto the A-line skirt. Attendants carried three pale pink Gerbera daisies with green hypericum berries tied off with hot pink ribbon with a hint of loop bear grass.

Emmory Morrison, daughter of the bride and groom, was a flower girl. Ring bearers were Kade Sabrsula and Kyler Sweat, nephews of the bride.

Best man was Brett Morrison of Corpus Christi, brother of the groom. Groomsmen were Chad Sabrsula of Wharton, brother of the bride; Justin Long of Rosenberg, cousin of the groom; Slade Johnson of Victoria and Cody Sweat of Wharton, friends of the groom; Chase Macek of Wharton, cousin of the groom; and Jason Brown of El Campo and Jarrett Hicks of Caldwell, friends of the groom.

Ushers were Jake Billings and Chance Frysak.

A reception followed at the El Campo Civic Center. Members of the houseparty included Judy Cox, Carolin Pavlicek, Erin Stagoski, Kathy Vallet, Yvonne Cerny and Karly Sabrsula.

Rehearsal dinner, a Mexican food buffet, was held at Casa Hernandez Friday evening.

The bride is a 2002 graduate of Wharton High School and attended Wharton County Junior College. She is a secretary at Jr's Texas Best Smoke House.

The groom is a 2001 graduate of El Campo High School and a 2003 graduate of Wharton County Junior College where he received an associates in electronics degree. He is a truck driver for Gulf Mark Energy.

After a wedding trip to Cabo San Lucas, the couple reside in El Campo.
