City Arrests Alcohol, drugs

Richard Hernandez, 29, of 304 Lundy was arrested at 1:54 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 7 on a Wharton County warrant for possession of a controlled substance and two warrants each for expired registration and no insurance. He was held at Wharton County Jail as of noon Thursday, Nov. 8.

Brandy Elice Kubena, 25, of 706 1/2 E. Jackson was arrested at 11:15 a.m. Tuesday, Nov. 6 on warrants for issuance of a bad check, no insurance and expired motor vehicle inspection certificate. She was released the same day on a payment plan for $962.93 in fines.

Violence, weapons

Bruno Juan Rodriguez, 28, of Nacogdoches was arrested at 9:55 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 7 on Nacogdoches County warrants for aggravated sexual assault and secure execution of document by fraud and charges of running a red light and failure to identify - fugitive from justice. He was held as of noon Thursday, Nov. 8.

Amanda Kae Appling, 23, of 706 E. Jackson was arrested at 12:38 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 6 on four warrants for failure to appear, three warrants for expired registration, two warrants each for no insurance and unrestrained child under age 2 and warrants for excessive noise - spinning tires, passenger unsecured by safety belt and failure to report change of address, after allegedly going to the city jail to retrieve keys from a prisoner. An officer recognized her as being a fugitive. She was released the same day on a payment plan for $3,639.50 in fines.

Jose Ascencio Martinez, 28, of 2401 Benchmark Dr. was arrested at 2:02 a.m. Thursday, Nov. 8 on two warrants each for failure to appear, no insurance and public intoxication and a warrant for running a stop sign. He remained in custody at presstime.

Patrick Sanchez, 19, of 513 Roth was arrested at 10:43 a.m. Thursday, Nov. 8 on a warrant for criminal mischief. He was transferred to county jail the next day.

Ten mailboxes were reported vandalized at Red Miller Trailer Park, CR 362 in El Campo between 1:53 and 2:24 a.m. Friday, Nov. 2.

A 42-year-old German man reported burglary of a motor vehicle rented in San Antonio while it was being towed from U.S. 59 at FM 1160 by a wrecker service from Magnolia. The thief took a $400 navigation system, a $300 digital camera and a pair of $100 sunglasses.

A 51-year-old woman reported aggravated assault - family violence involving a handgun at Pan American Ballroom at FM 1163 and Palacios between 6:50 and 6:59 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 4.

Michael Arismendez, 32, of 1509 South Prosperity was booked at 12:35 p.m. Monday, Nov. 5 for aggravated robbery. He was held without bond as of noon Thursday, Nov. 8.

Jail population as of noon Thursday, Nov. 8 was 128 prisoners.
