Fitness initiative launches design contest for students
      Texas Round-Up recently announced its statewide T-shirt design contest. Now in its third year, the contest encourages students to design a fitnessinspired concept to be used on the official T-shirt for the Texas Round-Up Family Mile, held in Austin.

FFA teams capture top awards in district competition
      Members of the El Campo Future Farmers of America competed in the District 3 leadership development contest Tuesday at Wharton County Junior College where they excelled in four contests. There were 26 schools eligible for competition in the district.

      Members of the El Campo Garden Club met Tuesday at the El Campo Country Club. Hostesses were Iola Drost and Carolyn Townsend. Patsy Korenek, first vice-president, presided with 33 members in attendance. Korenek gave a report on the success of the recent Ducks Unlimited banquet.
