Ticket sales, rallies set for both teams
      The El Campo Ricebirds and Louise Hornets will both participate in the first round of UIL football playoffs this week, with Louise rolling to Rockport Friday to play Bruni at 7:30 p.m., and the Ricebirds flying up U.S. 59 to Rosenberg to play La Marque at Traylor Stadium at 2 p.m.

Playoffs a tradition for El Campo
      The El Campo High School Ricebird Varsity Football team has a tradition of making the playoff round. In 11 of the last 15 years, the Ricebirds have qualified for the playoffs in football, including the 2006 season in which the team finished third in District 24-4A.
