Chamber seeks achiever nominees

Something extraordinary happened somewhere in El Campo this year and someone was responsible.

And the El Campo Chamber of Commerce and Agriculture is hoping the general public will help fill in the blanks.

The Chamber is seeking nominations for who should be awarded the 2007 Achiever of the Year honor.

It doesn't have to be a single person, Chamber President Becca Socha said.

The Junior League World Series winning El Campo boys were honored last year.

Former El Campo Assistant City Manager Mindi Snyder was the first recipient of the award which was created for the January 2006 Chamber banquet.

Unlike the Citizen of the Year award which honors a lifetime of service, the Achiever award is designed to celebrate the efforts of a single year or activity.

Nominating letter should be clear and concise, Socha added, saying bullet points are fine and letters should preferably be a page or less in length. Those nominations can be delivered to 201 E. Jackson or mailed to the Chamber of Commerce and Agriculture, P.O. Box 1400, El Campo, Texas, 77437.
