Outdoor 4-H gets update on WCYF archery meet

Members of the Outdoor 4-H Club met Monday evening at the Ozarka building.

The meeting was called to order by vice president Tyler Socha. Alexis Cooper called roll and read the minutes from the previous meeting. Mrs. Glaze read the archery committee report, announced results of the archery meet and recognized donors who purchased targets for the Wharton County Youth Fair archery meet.

Socha reminded members of the the roaster deadline on Nov. 21 and swine clinic on Dec. 2.

In new business, Clay Glaze made a motion to purchase two used compound bows for the archery team. Hannah Tupa seconded it and the motion passed.

The guest speaker, Christopher Bird, the new Wharton county game warden, talked to members about the 13-inch regulation for deer. He talked about how to determine the length by judging the distance by the ears. Bird answered numerous questions and used scenarios to answer and explain the situation.

A motion to adjourn the meeting was made by Riley Stock and seconded by Shelby Stary.
