George Strait releases best hits CD
Such was the case for Texas' country son George Strait. MCA released "22 More Hits," which just came out. This is Strait's sixth release of this nature. MCA released "50 Number Ones" in 2004. That two CD set included 51 songs. Strait's label also released "Strait Out Of The Box," a three CD set that came out in 1995. MCA has also released three greatest hits albums. The first came out in 1985, the second in 1987 and "Ten Strait Hits," which came out 1991. The label also released " Latest Greatest Hit" in 2000 and "Millennium Collection," another greatest hits CD, in 2002 The songs that Strait compiled for this new CD include "Unwound" (Strait's first single and first top 10 hit), "If You're Thinking You Want A Stranger," "Amarillo By Morning," "The Fireman," "Cowboys Like Us," "You'll Be There," "Marina Del Ray," "Desperately," "Lovebug," "Cowboys Like Us," "She Let Herself Go," "When Did You Stop Loving Me," "Overnight Success," "If You Can Do Anything Else," "Adilia," "Meanwhile," "Your Something Special To Me," "Drinking Champagne," "Don't Make Me Come Over There And Love You" and "You'll Be There." In most cases, there's at least one new song on a CD. This one includes "How 'Bout Them Cowgirls," which Strait performed at last week's Country Music Association Awards Show. Strait garnered Album of the Year for "It Just Comes Natural." His single hit, "Give It Away," won Song of the Year. This was Strait's 34th overall album. His first, "Strait County," came out in 1981. Sixteen were released on vinyl. To view Strait's entire discography, check out this Web site: http://www.lpdiscography. com/ |
