Burglar named El Campo's 'Most Wanted'

A man already on probation for burglary is now El Campo's "Most Wanted" fugitive.

Police are seeking tips to help them find 44-year-old Ray Sosa, whose last known address was 1708 Lampley.

El Campo's "Most Wanted" is an ongoing program of the El Campo Leader- News, the El Campo Police Departm ent and West Wharton County Crime Stoppers. The Most Wanted program pays cash rewards for information leading to the arrest and grand jury indictment of persons charged with felonies.

Sosa is 5-feet, 5-inches tall and weighs 145 pounds, according to ECPD Officer Cindy Howell, who is also the Crime Stoppers coordinator.

He is wanted on a warrant for theft of property for allegedly stealing a circular saw from a home at 206 Tegner. But Sosa is also wanted by District Court on a warrant for violating his probation on a conviction for burglary of a habitation.

Crime Stoppers and the El Campo Police Department's "Most Wanted" are two programs that let anonymous callers solve crimes and earn cash rewards. Informants do not have to give their names. Anyone with information about any crime should call Crime Stoppers at 543-8477.
