Arkeith leading Aggie D

Arkeith Brown
When the Texas A&M defense is on the field Friday trying to keep the Texas Longhorns out of the Big 12 Championship game, former El Campo Ricebird Arkeith Brown (No. 18) will be among the Aggies mixing it up with the Horns.

Brown has played in every game this year, but only started a few weeks ago after an injury to a teammate. In that short period of time he has become one of the leaders on the A&M defense.

According to information released by A&M Tuesday, Brown has been credited with 20 unassisted tackles and 25 assisted tackles in 11 games for a total of 45. That places him sixth among Aggie defenders.

Brown has also broken up four passes. He's tied for second place in that category with four other Aggies. The leader has six breakups.

His biggest game was against Kansas Oct. 27, where he recorded four unassisted and seven assisted tackles and broke up one pass attempt.
