Steer prices rise while grain ends week lower
      For the week ending Nov. 17, 2007, feeder steer prices at Texas auctions increased from a week ago to average $107.69 per hundredweight. Demand was high, especially for the limited supply of yearlings as some producers held back on sales in hopes for higher prices in the coming weeks.

TDA issues grants to fund cotton studies
      The Texas Department of Agriculture awarded more than $280,000 to cotton research in the state during a Sept. 10 ceremony at Lubbock. More than $1.2 million in grants to five Texas universities will fund 39 research projects designed to bolster and enhance the state's cotton industry.
