Freshman girls take third spot The Lady 'Birds team took third place at the Victoria ISD Annual Freshman Basketball Tournament held Nov. 15-17. El Campo took games over Yoakum, Beeville and Edna to finish third. The only team to defeat the ladies was Victoria Memorial. "I was really proud of the girls this weekend," Coach Melissa Popp said. "They played a lot of games this week and could have given up at any time and said they were tired, but they didn't. They showed that they are Lady 'Birds that fight till the end."
