8th Graders split with BC

El Campo Middle School's girls basketball teams started the season with games against Bay City Monday.

The eighth-grade teams split with Bay City.

8th Grade Red

Bay City's defense came through to beat El Campo 37-17.

Lexus Pleasant led the Lady 'Birds in scoring with 7 points while Shavonne Shorter scored 4 and Ja'vonna George, Breana Johnson and Aubrey Garcia each scored 2 points.

8th Grade White

El Campo finished strong to defeat the Lady Blackcats 23-8.

Graciela Trejo scored a team-high 5 points. Shaunice Haynes, Chelsey Nemec and Sabrina Vallejo each scored 4 points and Meredith Jeane, Julia Ontiveros and Sha'Cora Williams each scored 2 points.
