Clarence Ehler

Clarence A. Ehler, 76, of El Campo died on Monday, Nov. 26, 2007. He was born Sept. 20, 1931 in Moulton to Adolph and Victoria Wick Ehler.

He served as Seaman First Class in the U.S. Navy aboard the USS Prairie during the Korean Conflict. Mr. Ehler was owner of Merchants Freight Line for 45 years and was an avid hunter and fisherman.

He is survived by his wife of 52 years, Willie Mae Ehler of El Campo; son, Clarence "Bubba" Ehler and wife Janet of Houston; grandsons, Cody Ehler of El Campo and Zachary Gage Ehler of Houston; special friend Susan Rod of El Campo and numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; sisters, Denna Mae Ehler and June Rose Billimek, and brother, Allen F. Ehler.

Visitation was noon Tuesday, Nov. 27, 2007 with a rosary at 7 p.m. Tuesday at Triska Funeral Home.

Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m. today, Wednesday, Nov. 28, 2007 at St. Philip Catholic Church with Rev. Gary Janak officiating. Burial will be at the Holy Cross Memorial Park with military honors under the auspices of American Legion Post 251.

Memorials in memory of Clarence A. Ehler may be made to the American Heart Association, American Diabetes Association or to the donor's favorite charity.
