It's So Nice To Meet You Stage set for 'Blazing Guns at Roaring Gulch'
ECHS theatre students presenting production
It's the turn of the century when heroes and villains battle it out at the Roaring Gulch Hotel. The drama transforms as secrets begin to unfold in this production by the El Campo High School's theatre arts department.

In this scene, Bill Filbert (Leighton Sharp) and Martha Muldoon (Rachel Johnson) become acquainted for the first time in the production of "Blazing Guns at Roaring Gulch." The play, which is being performed by the El Campo High School theatre arts students, is set for three different performances: Friday and Saturday at 7:30 p.m., Dec. 7 and 8; and Sunday at 2 p.m. L-N Photo by Quala Matocha
Students, under the direction of teacher Carl Woodworth, have been busy preparing for their fall production: "Blazing Guns at Roaring Gulch" by Shubert Fendrich.

Show times will be at 7:30 p.m. on Friday and Saturday, Dec. 7 and 8, and at 2 p.m., Dec. 9 at the ECHS Auditorium.

All tickets are $3, and the play is suitable for all ages. Tickets can be purchased from any cast or crew member or at the door.

The play takes place in the lobby of the Roaring Gulch Hotel where the hero, Harry Heartstone, is found in hot pursuit of the villain, Snipe Vermin. Here the story takes an unusual turn because the villain and hero are twin brothers.

It is inevitable that the two should meet in a face-to-face gunfight which takes place in a most interesting manner in the closing minutes of the show.

The play offers many other attractive character roles including Willie Lovelace, the lady sheriff of Roaring Gulch; the Widow Black, evil proprietress of the Roaring Gulch Hotel; Martha Muldoon, a stranded actress; and Bill Filbert, the nutty sidekick of Snipe Vermin.

Cast members and roles include Marissa Hicks as Willie Lovelace, Kevin Jasso as Barney Black, Leighton Sharp as Bill Filbert, David Otradovsky as Snipe Vermin/Harry Heartstone, Heather Probst as Widow Black, Rachel Johnson as Martha Muldoon, Mike Wissinger as Col. Crabtree, Kaylin Panning as Flora, Caitlin Carruth as Dora, Natalie Campbell as Cora/saloon girl, and Rebecca Creevan as the sign girl.

Technical crew includes Travis Cano, lights; Jacob Medina, spot lights; Eric Defriend and Taylor Gresham, sound; Tabitha Head, house manager; Amber Supak, Tabitha Head and cast and crew, ticket sales.
