Richard Byrd

Richard Monroe Byrd, 44, of Conroe, died Wednesday, Nov. 28, 2007 in Alvin.

He was born on April 21, 1963 in New Gulf. Richard lived the outdoors, his music, his guitar, but his greatest love was for his two children. He was self-employed and loved in Conroe until his illness forced him to quit. He fought his battle with A.L.S., also known as Lou Gehrig's Disease, for two years. He will be remembered as a loving father, son, and brother.

Survivors include his mother, Betty Janak Sinclair of Alvin; daughter, Heather Byrd of Montgomery; son, Joseph Byrd of Montgomery; sister, Sandra Gutierrez and husband Frank of Rosenberg; brother, Carl Byrd of Alvin; and numerous aunts and uncles.

He is preceded in death by his father, Leroy Byrd; his grandparents, Joe and Albina Janak; and his step-father, Dorman Sinclair.

Funeral services will be held on Monday, Dec. 3 at 11 a.m. at Angeles Crest Funeral Home with interment following at Greenlawn Memorial Park in Rosenberg.

Visitation will be held on Sunday, Dec. 2 from 3-9 p.m. at Angeles Crest Funeral Home in Rosenberg.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests a donation to the A.L.S Association, Greater Houston Chapter, P.O.Box 271561, Houston, Texas 77277-1561.
