Elenora Krause

Elenora Mazel Krause, 93, of Wharton, died Wednesday, Nov. 28, 2007 in Wharton.

She was born on Aug. 20, 1914 in Fayetteville to Frank Mazel and Hildegard Cook Mazel.

Mrs. Krause moved to Wharton from Fayetteville at the age of seven. She attended both Fayette County and Lane City Schools. She married Carl Phillip Krause on Sept. 13, 1931 in Wharton. He preceded her in death on Oct. 4, 1995.

Mrs. Krause was a homemaker, she enjoyed cooking for her family, watching soap operas and playing bingo. She was a member of Holy Family Catholic Church and Holy Family Altar Society.

Survivors include her daughters, Irene Janicek of Hitchcock, Carline Kucera and husband, Herman of Wharton and Lillie Mae Kucera and husband, Herbert of Wharton; grandchildren, Pam Jones and husband, Thomas, Beverly Plowman, Stacy Kucera, Marvin Janicek Jr. and wife, Isabel; four great grandchildren; one great-great grandson; nieces and nephews; and numerous great-nieces and great-nephews also survive.

Mrs. Krause was preceded in death by her parents and husband; sister, Margaret Legler; and brothers, Sylvester and Milton Mazel.

Funeral mass services will be today, Saturday, Dec. 1 at 9:30 a.m. at Holy Family Catholic Church with Father Dominic Antwi-Boasiako officiating. Interment will follow at Evergreen Memorial Park Cemetery. Rosary services were held Friday, Nov. 30 at the Wharton Funeral Home.

Pallbearers are Marvin Janicek Jr., Ryan Jones, Blake Plowman, Thomas Jones, James Mazel and Charles Mazel.
