Alcohol, drugs

Selina Mirella Arrambide, 31, of 422 Herman was arrested at 11:34 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 1 on charges of purchasing/furnishing alcohol to a minor, possession of 2 ounces or less of marijuana, no insurance and possession of drug paraphernalia and cited for open alcohol container in a motor vehicle.

Police stopped her car for not signaling a turn in time and reported they found marijuana, cigars and wine coolers inside the vehicle, as well as Leticia Feregrino, 17, of 902 W. Fifth.

Feregrino was charged with possession of marijuana 2 ounces or less, minor in possession of an alcoholic beverage, minor in possession of tobacco and possession of drug paraphernalia, warrants for disorderly conduct - fighting and failure to appear and cited for open alcohol container in a motor vehicle. Arrambide was released from Wharton County Jail at 9:50 a.m. the next day on $5,000 bond. Feregrino was released at 12:10 a.m. Monday, Dec. 3 on $4,500 bond.

Calletano Castillo Esquibel, 44, of 712 Merchant was arrested at 9:11 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 2 on charges of driving while intoxicated and permitting an unlicensed driver to drive. Police had stopped a man for driving a Chevrolet Malibu with a broken brake light, and found that man had no driver's license. While they waited at the roadside for someone to come pick up that man's two children, Esquibel allegedly drove up on the scene and told police he'd let the first man drive his Malibu and wanted to claim it. He was held without bond as of 3 p.m. Monday, Dec. 3.

Roman Lara, 22, of 539 Sixth in Midfield was arrested at 2:05 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 1 on warrants for failure to appear, failure to yield right-of-way at a traffic light and no insurance and a charge of public intoxication. He was released the same day after paying $1,179 in fines.

Albert Manciaz, 54, of 1728 CR 267 South in Eagle Lake was arrested at 12:29 a.m. Sunday, Dec. 2 on two warrants for public intoxication and warrants for expired motor vehicle inspection certificate, operating an unregistered motor vehicle and open alcohol container in a motor vehicle. He was released the same day after paying $1,266.75 in fines.

Jermain Earl Hargrove, 21, of 1602 Able was arrested at 8:15 a.m. Sunday, Dec. 2 on charges of failure to identify - fugitive from justice and warrants for no valid driver's license and no insurance. He was released the next day after posting $2,000 bond.

Ralph McAfee Jr., 24, of 403 N. Wilke Rd. in Wharton was arrested at 6:28 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 2 on two warrants for failure to appear, warrants for speeding, no insurance and no driver's license and charges of failure to identify - fugitive from justice and disorderly conduct - language after police were called to investigate a disturbance. He was transferred to county jail the next day.

City Incidents

Property

Old Dudes Blue Bar, 104 Palacios, reported burglary of a building between 8 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 28 and 2 p.m. Friday, Nov. 30. Burglars did $200 damage to a pool table and stole $450 in coins.

Erick Lindsey reported criminal mischief to a vehicle parked at Rancho Village Apartments, 1610 S. Mechanic, between 10:20 and 10:30 p.m. Friday, Nov. 30. Vandals broke a $400 windshield.

Jail population as of 3 p.m. Monday was 109 prisoners.
