COURT REPORTS Burglars received jail time, probation and fines, those being among the sentences meted out by 329th District Court Judge Randy Clapp during November court actions. Those pleading guilty to felony crimes and accepting punishment included: • Miranda Joy Orsak, 27, of 501 Clara in El Campo for burglary of a building. She was sentenced to six months in state jail and ordered to pay $233 restitution. • Isaiah Garza, 21, of 711 Dunraven in Wharton for burglary of a building. He was placed on seven years probation, fined $200 and ordered to pay $100 restitution. Garza also must perform 60 hours community service and write a letter of apology to his victim. • Lawrence Joseph Cozine Jr., 29, of 1415 E. Jackson #35 in El Campo for failure to register as a sex offender. He was placed on 10 years probation with 30 days county jail as a condition of probation and ordered to perform 120 hours community service. • Lidia Cordero Rangel, 38, of 620 S. Guadalupe in Port Lavaca for possession of marijuana. She was placed on three years deferred probation, fined $200 and ordered to pay $250 restitution. A charge of endangering a child was set aside as part of the plea agreement. • Andrew Martin, 34, of 7711 Hawes in Hungerford for possession of a controlled substance. He was placed on three and a half years deferred probation, fined $250 and ordered to pay $250 restitution. • Christopher Hughes, 28, of 219 Dennis in Wharton for possession of a controlled substance in a drug free zone. He was sentenced to five years in prison and ordered to pay $250 restitution. Two additional possession charges and one charge of possession with the intent to deliver were set aside as part of the plea agreement. Hughes received credit for some time already served. • Jerome Smith, 23, of 424 Jackson Quarters in Wharton for theft. He was placed on three years probation. In a separate court action, his probation on two burglary of a habitation convictions was revoked and he was placed on an additional five years probation. • Herman Lee Ombogo, 29, of 5203 Hardwood Dr. in Rosenberg for three counts of burglary of a building. He was sentenced to six months in state jail and ordered to pay $1,182.55 restitution. Ombogo received credit for time already served. • Jesse Arriaga, 39, address unavailable, for possession of marijuana. His prior conviction was adjudicated and he was sentenced to 180 days in state jail with credit for time served. • Gabriel Sanchez Hernandez, 27, address unavailable, for possession of a controlled substance. His prior conviction was adjudicated and he was sentenced to 30 days in county jail with credit for some time already served. • Erica Moreno, 23, address unavailable, for burglary of a building. Her prior conviction was adjudicated and she was sentenced to 15 days in county jail with credit for time served. |
