Monsanto exhibit comes to El Campo Civic Center

One farm seed and chemical company brought its version of a traveling roadshow to town, a "mobile technology unit" open for tours through tomorrow.

Monsanto's Mobile Technology Unit, a 53-footlong traveling unit with 1,000 square feet of exhibit space stopped off at the El Campo Civic Center Tuesday and will remain through Thursday. Free tours are available to farmers and other members of the public from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. daily.

Aboard the mobile technology unit, visitors will first view an introductory video featuring NFLfootball legend and farm boy Kurt Warner, and then take a guided tour through exhibit areas which feature displays, videos and interactive elements about breeding, crop analytics, biotechnology, Monsanto's new product pipeline and ethanol.

"As a company focused solely on agriculture, Monsanto is committed to helping farmers be successful," said Jim Zimmer, Monsanto vice president-U.S. branded business. "That is why we are so strongly committed to developing new technologies that can help farmers increase their yields, improve their profitability and participate in new market opportunities for their crops."

Following the tour, visitors will have the opportunity to view ethanol exhibits positioned outside the Mobile Technology Unit, including an on-site ethanol production demonstration unit.
