City Arrests Alcohol, drugs

Elvira Deases Mata, 41, of 107 E. West was arrested at 1:30 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 8 on warrants for possession of drug paraphernalia, failure to identify, public intoxication, unrestrained child under age 2, violating the teen curfew, expired motor vehicle inspection certificate, speeding and no driver's license and two warrants for no insurance. She remained in custody at presstime.

Ernesto Ruiz Melendez, 38, of 905 Roth was arrested at 12:25 a.m. Monday, Dec. 10 on charges of driving while intoxicated, no insurance and no driver's license after his vehicle was stopped for speeding. He was transferred to Wharton County Jail and released at 9:30 a.m. the same day on $3,000 bond.

Property

Torrance Boston, 35, of 1507 Bravo was arrested at 8:45 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 9 on Wharton County warrants for issuance of a bad check and failure to appear, a warrant for no insurance and charges of running a stop sign and no insurance. He was held on $1,724 in bonds and fines.

Violence, weapons

Richard Hernandez, 29, of 304 Lundy Ave. was arrested at 1:56 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 8 on a warrant for assault bodily injury. He was released at 11 a.m. the same day on $2,500 bond.

Billy Jay Hawkins, 25, of 611 S. Washington was arrested at 7:10 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 8 on a warrant for injury to a child. He was released the same day on $10,000 bond.

Other

Miguel Hernandez, 33, of 302 Maggie Rd. was arrested at 1:54 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 8 on warrants for failure to appear, open alcohol container in a motor vehicle and unrestrained child under age 4. He was released the same day on $1,184.64 bond.

Klay Derek King, 20, of Sugar Land was arrested at 5:50 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 8 on a charge of criminal mischief. He was in municipal lockup on a charge of public intoxication and allegedly tore two $50 mats in the holding cell and flushed their stuffing down the commode, blocking it and damaging the fixture. He was transferred to county jail the same day.

Justin Ray Hernandez, 22, of 105 E. Third was arrested at 12:43 a.m. Monday, Dec. 10 on a warrant for criminal trespass at a habitation or shelter center and charges of public intoxication and disorderly conduct. He was released at 10:30 a.m. the same day on $3,000 bond.

A 16-year-old El Campo boy was arrested at 12:30 p.m. Monday, Dec. 10 on a charge of criminal trespass after failing to behave at El Campo High School, being suspended then failing to leave when ordered to do so. He was released to a relative later that day.

Minor in possession: 1.

City Incidents Property

Amanda Espinosa reported a burglary at 211 Pecan between 8:30 and 11 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 8. Burglars took jewelry and household goods worth $370.

County Jail Bookings Other

Shonna L. Wittman, 28, of 220 Palomar was booked Friday, Dec. 7 for probation violation. He was held on $20,000 bond as of 11:30 a.m. Monday, Dec. 10.
