Mary Hughes

Mary Lou Hughes, 77, of Wharton, died Sunday, Dec. 9, 2007 at her residence.

She was a retired secretary who had worked for Mr. and Mrs. Laurance Armour Jr.

Survivors include her daughters, Velda Vonderau of the Pierce Ranch, Lynn Hughes of Buchanan Dam, Lou Edsall of Arvada, Colo., and Leigh Freudensprung of Wharton; four grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.

In lieu of funeral services, Mrs. Hughes made the decision to donate her body to science.
