Albert Wendel

Albert Henry Wendel, 88, of El Campo, died Monday, Dec. 10, 2007.

He was born on Oct. 31, 1919 in Hillje to Peter and Anna Erdelt Wendel. Mr. Wendel worked for the El Campo Post Office until his retirement on Oct. 31, 1979. He was an Army veteran of WWII.

Survivors include his wife, Margaret Svoboda Wendel of El Campo; daughter, Jeanette Sipos and husband Jim of Glen Flora; grandson, John Harnden and wife Stephanie of Joshua; great-grandson, Mason Wendel Harnden of Joshua; brothers, John P. Wendel and wife Agnes of Glen Flora, Henry Wendel and wife Dorothy of Bay City; and sister, Clarice Gwosdz of El Campo.

He was preceded in death by his parents; son, Gerald Wendel; and sister, Agnes Supak.

Visitation will be today, Wednesday, Dec. 12 at noon at Triska Funeral Home. A rosary will follow today at 7:30 p.m. at Triska Funeral Home.

Funeral services will be held Thursday, Dec. 13 at 1 p.m. at St. Philip the Apostle Catholic Church with the Rev. Gary Janak officiating.

Burial will follow at Holy Cross Memorial Park with military honors under the auspices of the American Legion Post 251. Memorial donations may be made to St. Philip Catholic Church, St. Philip School or Hospice Support, Inc.
