CDC gets tax bill redone

Getting their property tax bills straightened out will be on the minds of City Development Corp. of El Campo directors at their next meeting.

At the board's last meeting on Dec. 3, directors tabled action on paying their property taxes after it was discovered they'd been billed twice for some of their land and buildings. The CDC has property in the Meisel and Blue Creek Industrial parks it uses to lure industry and jobs to the city. The county appraisal district will reissue the development agency's bill and it's expected CDC directors will approve payment.

The board will also get the results of its annual audit during the meeting.

The CDC is a city-created entity funded by a quarter cent of the city's sales tax dollars to promote economic development. The board meeting begins at 3 p.m. Monday, Dec. 17 in the Northside Education Center conference room, 707 Fahrenthold. CDC board meetings are open to the public.
