COURT REPORTS

Allegations of drug possession and driving while intoxicated with a child prompted action from the Wharton County Grand Jury as it gathered for December deliberations.

A grand jury true bill or indictment does not mean a person is guilty of the crime they stand accused of in court. Instead, the indictment is a citizen verdict that a prosecutor has enough evidence to proceed with felony charges.

A jury or judge will determine guilt later.

A superceding indictment is one which adds information to a previous indictment.
