Lodge elects new officers

Members of El Campo Hermann Sons met Wednesday, Dec. 12 at the lodge. The evening began with a meal of baked turkey, dressing, cranberry sauce, green bean casserole, tea, raspberry cookie bars and "You Name It" bars.

Election of new officers was held. All current officers were re-elected by acclamation with the exception of the rotation of finance committee members and trustees.

A moment of silence was held in memory of Grace Mauch, Fred Melcher and Andrew Dittert.

The balance of the scholarship fund was discussed. This year's recipients will be finalized in January.

Members recognized Wade Newton who had a birthday in November along with Kim and Cindy Witcher who celebrate their birthdays this month. Donald and Ruby Wigginton celebrated their wedding anniversary in November.

Monthly door prizes went to Don and Ruby Wigginton, Wade and Carolyn Newton, Cindy Witcher and Kim Witcher.

The lodge will host the installation of officers at the El Campo Civic Center Duson Room on Sunday, Jan. 13 at noon.

Lodge officers will attend the installation of officers in January and there will not be a local meeting.

The next meeting will be Tuesday, April 1, at 6 p.m. at Wharton County Electric Coop.
