Guard's kindness remembered by POW

      A simple Christmas card took on a whole new meaning for one Missouri soldier who spent a fair portion of the war guarding El Campo soil. It was sent by a German soldier. The recipient was an American soldier - one of his guards - PFC George Robert Bogart of Kansas City, Mo.

Mayor's ordinance delay questioned

      The city of El Campo's decision to delay ordinance enforcement in newly annexed areas has raised questions about mayoral authority. Mayor Phillip Spenrath announced a full code enforcement moratorium Thursday specifically designed to allow for two fireworks stands on Hwy. 71 North to operate.
