Road To Recovery
Robbie Erwin, 23, was discharged from Memorial Hermann Hospital Wednesday following a one-vehicle rollover Christmas Eve along FM 647 East near Louise, but the driver of the pickup truck, Garrett Williamson, 22, remains in Memorial Hermann. He underwent surgery on a broken back Wednesday morning, and is now in a private room. His father, Louise ISD board president Zack Williamson, said Thursday afternoon that in a few days his son will be transferred to the Texas Institute for Research and Rehabilitation for a month to begin a lengthy recovery process. Judy Garcia, Erwin's mother, said a couple of pelvis fractures will keep her son confined to a wheelchair for some time. Erwin and Garrett are both 2003 Louise High graduates. El Campo EMS and Louise VFD members met two Life Flight helicopters at the Louise school parking lot at about 7:45 a.m. Tuesday.
