COURT REPORTS

Prison and probationary sentences were ordered to those pleading guilty to felonies ranging from drug possession to racing during late December action in the 329th District Court.

Judge Randy Clapp heard the following guilty pleas:

• Jeffrey Davis, 35, of 501 Texas #C in Wharton for possession of a controlled substance with the intent to deliver in a drug free zone. He was placed on 10 years deferred probation, fined $200 and ordered to pay $250 restitution. Davis must also perform 80 hours of community service.

A charge of possession of a controlled substance in a drug free zone was set aside as part of the plea agreement.

• David Arley Brown, 30, address unavailable, for criminal attempt (racing). His prior conviction was adjudicated and he was sentenced to six months in state jail.

Brown received credit for time already served.

• Silvestre Ramos, 24, address unavailable, for aggravated assault with serious bodily injury. His prior conviction was adjudicated and he was sentenced to two years in prison with credit for 13 months already served.

• Linda Marie Scales, 55, of 1524 Connie in Wharton for debit card abuse. She was placed on three years probation on the condition she serve 30 days in county jail. Scales was also ordered to perform 60 hours community service and pay $212.70.

She received credit for time already served. As part of the plea agreement, six other counts of debit card abuse were set aside.

• Moises Zurita, 22, address unavailable for money laundering. His prior conviction was adjudicated and he was sentenced to 771 days in state jail. Zurita received credit for the full time served.

• Michael Ezekiel White, 48, address unavailable, for driving while intoxicated. He was sentenced to 45 days in county jail with credit for the full time served.

In a separate court action, White pleaded guilty to endangering a child and was placed on two years deferred adjudication.

• Cara Jaylynn Braune, 20, of 500 S. Caney in Wharton for possession of a controlled substance. She was placed on three years deferred probation on the condition she serve 75 days in county jail.

Braune received credit for the full time already served.

She was also ordered to pay $250 restitution and perform 120 hours community service.

• Anthony Dwyne Tolden, 46, of 324 Moutray in Wharton for injury to a child. He was placed on five years deferred probation, fined $300 and ordered to perform 120 hours of community service.

The judge also ordered Tolden to attend anger management classes.

• Latishca Jackson, 21, of 18845 Imperial Eagle Lane in Elgin for forgery. In exchange for the guilty plea, the charge was lowered to a Class A Misdemeanor and she was sentenced to seven days in county jail. Jackson received credit for the full time already served.
