Signs Move Into Sandy Corner

With the city of El Campo's recent annexations, the municipal limits have moved north along Sandy Corner Road and Hwy. 71. Last week city worker David Hobbins, left, placed city limit markers along with speed limit signs under the direction of Street Superintendent Daniel Priesmeyer, right.

Although the annexations were approved Dec. 11, the city had put a moratorium on city code enforcement through Jan. 1. With the new year, all city ordinances are in effect in the newly annexed areas including restrictions on outdoor burning.
