William Morris William C. Morris "Billy," 76, died Monday, Dec. 31, 2007 in Houston. Billy was born in El Campo on Sept. 1, 1931 to Micky and Beulah Hensley Morris. He was a lifelong resident of El Campo. He proudly served in the U.S. Coast Guard and National Guard. He was a retired police officer having served in Raymondsville and as assistant police chief in Palacios. He was a member of the American Legion Post 251. He is survived by his loving wife of 53 years, Ada Morris; children, Jerry Wayne Morris and wife Diane, Debra Kay Layton and husband Charles, and William C. "Bill" Morris and wife Sharon; brother, Cecil Morris; six grandchildren; and numerous great-grandchildren; and nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; and sister, Wanda Skow. Funeral services were held Friday, Jan. 4 at 10 a.m. at New Life Assembly with Pastor Danny Roberts officiating. Graveside services with full military honors under the auspices of the American Legion followed at Garden of Memories Cemetery. Arrangements were under the direction of Triska Funeral Home. |
