Police Blotter City Arrests Alcohol, drugs Raquel Almanzar, 34, of 1014 E. Calhoun was arrested at 2:34 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 5 on charges of driving while intoxicated - second offense and expired driver's license after allegedly hitting another vehicle while in the drive-through line of a fast-food restaurant. She was transferred to Wharton County Jail and released at 2:30 p.m. the same day on $5,500 bond. Other James Ray Harvey, 46, of 101 W. Sixth was arrested Sunday, Dec. 30 on charges of failure to stop and give information after a motor vehicle crash, failure to stop at a designated point, failure to control speed and no seat belt. While working a traffic stop, an officer saw Harvey commit a traffic violation and then received a report of that vehicle striking another one and driving off. The officer investigated and found Harvey's vehicle in a ditch on East Sixth. Police allege Harvey's pickup had struck two vehicles and fled the scene before driving off the roadway. Harvey was released the same day on $652 bond. Jacqualine Graves Johnson, 46, of Route 2, Box 142B on Hwy. 71 South in El Campo was arrested Tuesday, Jan. 1 on a Wharton County warrant for failure to appear, warrants for failing to stop and give information after a motor vehicle crash and speeding and a charge of no insurance. Timothy Wayne Edwards, 42, of 1415 W. Norris was arrested Thursday, Jan. 3 on a Jackson County warrant for probation violation and three warrants for no insurance. He was held on $20,000 bond as of 2 p.m. Monday, Jan. 7. Thomas Yanis, 45, of 1305 Sam was arrested at 7:18 p.m. Friday, Jan. 4 on warrants for failure to appear and excessive noise - loud music. He remained in custody at presstime. Stacy Lynn Navarro, 20, of 605 Empire was arrested at 8 a.m. Monday, Jan. 7 on warrants for failure to appear and permitting an unlicensed operator to drive. Cody Zimmerhanzel reported criminal mischief causing $500 damage to a vehicle's tires between 10:30 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 29 and 11:05 a.m. Sunday, Dec. 30 at 1415 E. Jackson. Bertha Arrambide reported burglary of a habitation at 212 E. Fifth between noon and 5:45 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 5. Burglars stole $1,300 in jewelry and precious metals and $400 in computer related items. Eloise Barnes reported burglary of a vehicle parked at 207 Jan between 6 a.m. Monday, Dec. 24 and 9 a.m. Sunday, Jan. 6. Burglars took a $175 Kenwood radio/CD player. County Jail Bookings Alcohol, drugs Robert I. Perez, 17, of 608 Alamo was booked Monday, Dec. 24 for possession of marijuana. He was released the same day. Shawn Garcia, 17, of 506 Mayfield was booked Friday, Dec. 21 for possession of marijuana. He was held on $1,000 bond. Brandy Lee Powell, 23, of 310 August was booked Tuesday, Jan. 1 for driving while intoxicated. She was released the same day on $1,500 bond. Jose Juan Olvera, 24, of 702 Divide was booked at 8 a.m. Friday, Jan. 4 for resisting arrest, public intoxication and disorderly conduct. He was released at 7:15 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 6 on $3,500 bond. Property Jose Camacho, 53, of 2001 Ave. F was booked Thursday, Dec. 27 on warrants out of Louisiana for theft and engaging in business without authorization. Violence, weapons Brenda Huerta, 24, of 9967 CR 405 in El Campo was booked Monday, Dec. 24 for two counts of assault-family violence. She was released Friday, Dec. 28. Other Jeffery Wayne Curtis, 38, of 1501 Able was booked Thursday, Dec. 27 on a warrant for contempt of court (non-payment of child support). He was held on $900 bond. Erwin Daniel Armstrong, 29, of 808 Ellwood was booked Friday, Dec. 28 for bond forfeiture, no insurance, expired registration, two counts of failure to appear and three counts of no driver's license. He was released Saturday, Dec. 29 on $8,500 bond. Jarrette Louis Levi, 28, of 207 E. 7th was booked Tuesday, Jan. 1 for capias pro fines. He was released to El Campo Police Department the next day. Jose Romero Lujan, 36, of 1022 Lily was booked at 3:55 p.m. Friday, Jan. 4 for immigration hold and a warrant for tampering with a government record. He was held on $10,000 bond.
