Achieving Excellence
Alannah Jasso, Angela Fiala and Ashley Thomas (l-r) each passed the nurse aide exam Wednesday, Dec. 19 at Avalon Place in Wharton. The El Campo High School students took a gerontology course offered under the instruction of Margy Cerny, RN. They spent 60 classroom hours learning about gerontology and then completed 24 clinical hours at Avalon Place working directly with the residents. During test time, each demonstrated five skills chosen by the state tester. After passing a minimum of four, each took a 70-question written exam. All three passed both exams and are now certified nurse aides.
