SPJST to design camp T-shirts

Members of the SPJST Lodge #30 Taiton youth club met Sunday afternoon at the Taiton Community Center. President Kenna Bubela presided.

It was noted that members completed their January Vestnik projects and participated in a hidden picture game.

Members were reminded dues are payable for 2008 and are $1.50 per member.

In old business, members were reminded the camp T-shirt contest deadline is Jan. 31.

In new business, the leaders in training camp will be held June 6-8 at Forest Glen near Huntsville.

Join Hands Day is May 3. Members were asked to come up with ideas the group could do for this project.

Youth leader Lisa Bubela went over the newsletter. She noted the SPJST District 6 spring meeting will be held March 2 with Lodge 30, Taiton hosting the event. Set-up and decorating will begin at 9 a.m. The adult club will hold its meeting at 9:30 a.m. with the youth club meeting following at 10 a.m. SPJST adult Lodge 30, Taiton will hold its annual appreciation banquet April 6. More details will come at future meetings.

Members read poems and door prizes were exchanged.

The next meeting will be at 2:30 p.m., Feb. 3 at the Taiton Community Center. The craft for the February meeting will be to make a Valentine's Day card. The charity will be to bring a bud vase for your special Valentine. Members will then arrange flowers in the vase as a craft at the meeting.

The meeting was adjourned at 3:08 p.m. with the motion to adjourn made by Danielle Zalman and seconded by Steven Drapela. Members then enjoyed refreshments.
