Homer Roades Sr. Master Sgt. Homer Roades Sr., USAF Retired, died Wednesday, Jan. 2, 2008 at 85. He served his country in WWII, retired from the USAF after 25 years of service, and went on to work many years at Ford Aerospace. Survivors include his wife, Nancy Roades of South Houston; daughters, Billie Breckel of Angleton, Margaret McLachlan of Houston and Carla McDonald of Deer Park; son, Dusty Roades of Deer Park; brothers, Herbert Roades of Louise and Donald Roades of Bay City; sister, Fern Castelenia of Bryan; eight grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and four stepchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife, Emma Nell Roades; and his parents, Clarence and Ruth Roades of Louise; brothers, Roy Roades of Ganado, Paul Roades of El Campo and Sam Roades of Sweeny; and sisters, Noami Matthews of El Campo and R. Tucker of Louise. Funeral service was held Tuesday, Jan. 8 at 1 p.m. at First Baptist Church of South Houston. Burial followed at Forest Park East Cemetery in Webster. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Building Fund at First Baptist Church of South Houston. |
