Lucille Smidt
She was born on Dec. 6, 1930 in Louise to Fabian and Justina Hruzek Strouhal. Mrs. Smidt was a homemaker and a member of the KJZT. She made Hump Lures and had worked for Ray Distributing making fishing leaders. Survivors include her husband, Pat Smidt of El Campo; son, Randy Smidt and wife Denise of Yorktown; daughter, Lileete Ilse and husband Kurt of El Campo; grandchildren, Aaron and Caleb Smidt, Keenan and Kade Ilse; sisters, Genevieve Kubala and Margaret Reed, both of Houston, and Delores Lehnert of Louise. She was preceded in death by her parents; and sisters, Mary Lee Clarady and Jean Morton. A Parish rosary was recited Monday, Jan. 7 at 7 p.m. at Triska Funeral Home. The Funeral Mass was held Tuesday, Jan. 8 at 10 a.m. at St. Philip the Apostle Catholic Church with the Rev. Gary Janak officiating. Interment followed at Holy Cross Memorial Park under the direction of Triska Funeral Home. Pallbearers were Aaron Smidt, Caleb Smidt, Keenan Ilse, Kade Ilse, Kurt Ilse, Rodney Montello, Greg Montello and Doug Mathews. Memorial donations in memory of Lucille Smidt may be made to the American Heart Association. |
