Help Wanted Saturday
Lack of district funding hasn't stopped the Louise community from building a new softball field for its girls team, like this volunteer who was moving dirt at the site recently. LISD Superintendent Andy Peters said work and donations have taken off at an amazing pace since the school board agreed in December to let volunteers build the field. There will be a big work day today, starting at 8 a.m., when volunteers are needed to help lay sod on the field. Donations of materials and labor are still needed to complete the facility, Peters said.
