LETTERS TO THE EDITOR
BFIbrush collection lacking in reliability
Editor, the Leader-News:

How do you get BFIto pick up your tree limbs and brush? I have had limbs piled up for seven weeks now. I have called several times, but the limbs are still there. They claim to pick up brush and limbs on Wednesday; however, they do not say which Wednesday of which month or year they will do it. BFIdoes not mind going up on your bill, with no improvement in service.

Trash pick-up service was forced on me two years ago, even though I did not need it or want it. So now when I use it they do not pick it up. I feel sorry for the newly annexed people of El Campo: BFIcan't take care of the area they have now! I only hope when the BFIcontract comes up for renewal, the city asks for bids, so we can get a trash collection company that can take care of business. I can say one part of their service comes on time - the bill is always here by the first of the month.

Editor's Note: We have gotten good results by calling the Citizen's Collection Station at 541-5095 on Tuesday to get "on the list" for a Wednesday brush pick up. While Wednesday is the stated pick-up day, we have seen BFIcrews working on Saturdays at times as well. We have received poor results when assuming that brush would be picked up on Wednesday. However, getting on the schedule has worked well.
