COURT REPORTS Allegations of drug trafficking and burglary mean upcoming felony trials for several Wharton County residents following grand jury deliberations. A grand jury indictment does not mean a person is guilty of the crime or crimes they stand accused of in the court. Instead, the indictment is a citizen verdict that a prosecutor has enough evidence to proceed with felony charges. Those indicted during January deliberations of the Wharton County Grand Jury include: • Ernest Armstrong, 24, of 1221 Kingston A in Wharton for possession of a controlled substance and tampering with physical evidence. On July 5, 2007, he allegedly had less than 1 gram of cocaine in his possession. When the Wharton attempted to arrest him, Armstrong allegedly attempted to flush pills and marijuana down a commode to eliminate the evidence. He has prior felony convictions for burglary of a habitation and delivery of a simulated controlled substance in Wharton County. • Quincy Deshawn Dorn, 24, of 102 Correll in Wharton for burglary of a building. He allegedly broke into a Wharton business on Nov. 15, 2007 with the intention of stealing clothing. • Aaron Mitchell Falks, 25, of 800 Fifth in Bay City for intoxication assault. He allegedly drove drunk July 19, 2007 "driving off the roadway and colliding with a tree" causing the injury of a female passenger in the vehicle. The prosecutor also is alleging that the vehicle was used as a deadly weapon in the incident. • Jimmy Gaona, 27, of Rt. 1, Box 413 in Wharton for two counts of indecency with a child. The incident allegedly involved a girl under the age of 17 on Sept. 30, 2007. • Laura Leigh Golden, 24, of 122 Manderin in Victoria for possession of a controlled substance and possession of anhydrous ammonia in an improper container. She allegedly had less than 1 gram of methamphetamine or "meth" on June 7, 2007. She also stands accused of possessing anhydrous ammonia, a material used in the manufacture of meth, in a nondesignated container on Sept. 5, 2007. • Brittany Sierra Guthrie, 18, of 1307 Westgate in Wharton for burglary of a habitation. She allegedly broke into a Wharton home on May 16, 2007 with the intent to commit criminal mischief. • Bruce Charles Shelley, 25, of 4708 CR 408 in El Campo for possession of a controlled substance and the intent to deliver it. He allegedly had 4 to 200 grams of meth on Sept. 5, 2007 with the intention of selling it. • Randy Lamont Hargrove, 33, of 918 N. Liberty in El Campo possession of a controlled substance and the intent to deliver it. He allegedly had between 4 and 200 grams of cocaine on Aug. 10, 2007 and attempted to sell it. Hargrove has prior felony convictions for possession of a controlled substance and possession of a firearm by a felon. • Luis Osvaldo Ibargue, 34, of 2435 Aldon in Houston for three counts of driving while indicted intoxicated with a child passenger. He allegedly drove drunk Sept. 8, 2007 with three children under the age of 15 in the vehicle with him. The prosecutor also is alleging that the vehicle was used as a deadly weapon in the incident. • Raymond Molina, 40, of 1307 John in El Campo for driving while intoxicated.
