St. Philip students ready to raise money

Plans are being made for St. Philip Catholic School' s Read-AThon. Volunteers are busy collecting prizes and organizing events.

The annual fundraiser, which supports the school's endowment fund, also encourages students to read.

Last year students raised more than $15,000.

A kick-off rally will begin at 2:30 p.m., Friday, Jan. 25 in the parish hall. At this time, students will be challenged to read and collect money over the course of several weeks.

The reading program will end Friday, Feb. 8; however the collection of funds will continue through Feb. 15.

When all the books and money have been tallied, the student body will come together for an awards assembly at 1:45 p.m., Friday, Feb. 22.

If you would like to make a prize donation, call the school, 543-2901, or Kim Socha, 543-1371.
