4-H club collects items for Veterans Hospital Members of the Saddle Club met Monday, Jan. 14 at the Ozarka Building. The meeting, which was called to order promptly at 5:15 p.m., was run by Bethany Weinheimer in Shelby Rod's absence. Courtney Thonsgaard led the group in the US Pledge of Allegiance and Natalie Nohavitza led the group in the 4-H Pledge. Roll was called by Weinheimer, who also read the minutes of the previous meeting. The treasurer's report was given by Hannah Weinheimer. Brag time followed with members sharing 4-H events they have participated in the past few months. Bethany also announced upcoming important dates and told members they may refer to the county newsletter for more details. Jillian Jeane talked about the group's community service for January. Members will be collecting white items for the Veteran's Hospital, such as paper towels, tissues, wipes, toilet paper, etc. Parents discussed the times they signed up to work at the fair. To clarify the matter this will be discussed at a fair board meeting. Jo Cain read a thank-you from Robin Crowell, El Campo High School counselor, and the family who received Christmas gift cards from the group.
