Steve Ulkie Steve Paul Ulkie, 90, of El Campo, died Sunday, Jan. 13, 2008. He was born on Dec. 20, 1917 in Anderson to Stash and Mary Macjieski Ulkie. He was retired from Halliburton where he worked in cementing and production for many years. Mr. Ulkie was a veteran of World War II, serving in the U.S. Navy CB, and was awarded the Purple Heart. He was a member of the American Legion and VFW. Nephews, Johnny and Archie Ulkie of Dayton and numerous other nieces and nephews survive him. He was preceded in death by his wife, Christine Ulkie; and brothers, Louis and Brozik Ulkie. A parish wake service was held Tuesday, Jan. 15 at 7 p.m. at Triska Funeral Home. Funeral services will be today, Wednesday, Jan. 16 at 10:30 a.m. at St. Philip the Apostle Catholic Church with the Rev. Augustine Asante officiating. Graveside services will follow at 3:30 p.m. at the Liberty Catholic Cemetery in Liberty under the direction of Triska Funeral Home. Pallbearers are John Wierzowiecki, Jim Wierzowiecki, Mark Pustejovsky, Keith Pustejovsky and Bartos Vyrol. Honorary pallbearer is Wilfred 'Squeeky' Socha. |
