CDC board meets Monday

Getting their tax bills paid and audit approved will be on the minds of the City Development Corp. of El Campo's directors at their next meeting.

At the board's Dec. 3 meeting, directors tabled action on paying their property taxes after it was discovered they'd been billed twice for some of their land and buildings. The CDC has property in the Meisel and Blue Creek industrial parks it uses to lure industry and jobs to the city.

The board will also get the results of its annual audit during the meeting and decide whether to approve the document.

Directors also will:

• Consider buying a new computer for Executive Director Chandra Spenrath;

• Decide whether to have Spenrath attend an economic developer program in Reno, Nev.; and

• Hold a closed executive session to discuss economic development negotiations, consult with its attorney and discuss personnel matters.

The board meeting begins at 2 p.m. Monday, Jan. 21 in the Northside Education Center conference room, 707 Fahrenthold. CDC board meetings are open to the public.
