COURT REPORTS

Two people will be serving probationary terms following plea bargain agreements during recent district court action.

During the winter break, 329th District Court Judge Randy Clapp accepted two guilty pleas and handed down the following sentences:

• Samantha Nicole Martinez, 18, of 501 Pierce in El Campo pleaded guilty to possession of a controlled substance Dec. 20. She was placed on five years deferred probation, but must spend 45 days in county jail first.

She was also ordered to pay $250 restitution.

With the deferred probation, the conviction won't be held against Martinez if she is able to complete all terms.

Martinez received credit for time already served.

Tookes was also ordered to pay $250 restitution.

He received credit for time already served.
